Doesn’t really explain what we’ve been discussing.

Just food for thought…
If Dr. Warren’s intention was to pray in Isa’s name along side Jesus, then wouldn’t he say “in the names of Yeshua, Jesus, Jesus AND Isa”? As it stands, he says in “the name” (singular) and gives three names we don’t disagree with and one that could be misunderstood as representing Jesus? Is it possible he ONLY meant to speak of Jesus Christ by names different people know him as? Is it possible, even given his credentials, that he simply made a mistake and did not have an evil intent in this?

Well, I don’t want to judge Rick Warren. But what bothers me most is his theological beliefs. he really deviated from “conservative evangelicalism” and is now promoting the “left-wing ecumenism.” His prayer was actually to please all religionists - specifically christians, judaizers and the muslims. May it be that Jesus Christ was indeed pleased.

It’s interesting that Warren mentions that he was not praying to people. However, when I heard his prayer it was obvious that he was praying to please others more than to please the God. Surely Warren knows that Isa is not actually the Aramaic tranlation for Jesus. That is ” Eashoa’ ” Isa is only found in the Quran, which denies Jesus death and diety. It’s seems like Warren was trying to bring all faiths together and say we worship the same God. However, true believers in Christ Jesus knows that is not true.

We should keep in mind, that all kind of believers were present or watching the prayer on television. For me it is obvious, that he used three different names to point to Jesus Christ. Also the Jews do not believe that Jesus (Yeshua) is their messias. But this doesn’t change the deity of Jesus Christ.
