Putting Love and Truth into action

Posted on 03 October 2009 by Josh Cordell

ihco Here are a few groups that are putting Love and Truth into action:
I Heart Bend - “The Heart Campaign was founded in 2007 through a generous grant from the Foursquare Foundation. The strategy of the campaign was to mobilize volunteers in small cities and towns throughout Central Oregon for the purpose of social outreach and community service. In January 2008, the first ‘I Heart Event’ was held in LaPine, Oregon. Over 150 volunteers served their community during the day, culminating in an evening event where more than 650 people filled the high school auditorium to hear Elliot perform. After the success of the first event, the Campaign held events in Bend, Prineville and Sisters, with plans to hold events in 10 cities through 2010.”
Wine to Water - “Wine To Water is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit aid organization focused on providing clean water to needy people around the world. Over 1 billion people in the world today lack access to adequate water and sanitation. We are devoted to fighting this epidemic. Wine symbolizes fortune in our society. Our goal is to give the fortunate population an opportunity to fight for those who can’t fight for themselves.”
Path Ministries International - “Walking the PATH, (Path Africa Takes to Health) helping to equip, assisting the less fortunate in developing countries to come to a higher standard of existence in body, soul and spirit.”

Worthy of support!

Unity amongst believers

Posted on 11 August 2009 by Josh Cordell

i-heart-bend-08-004I always love to see the body of believers working together, especially when those bodies live in the same are but don’t fellowship together… or as we like to put it “they attend different churches.”

Anyway, “I Heart Bend” here in my hometown of Bend, Oregon is a great example of unity amongst believers. It’s basically a community work group sponsored by the local churches, where they go out and serve the community together.

Good stuff!
